In 1934 the Rantoul Woman's
Club
organized a volunteer library in space provided by the Village Board.
And
a second referendum in 1935 established a tax-supported library. In
1949
the Junior Woman's Club sponsored a project to promote plans for a new
separate library builidng. And the Library moved to the corner of Route136 and Route 45 in 1951.
Two additions were made to the original structure in 1960. In December
2000 the Library Board and the Village Board agreed on a plan to move
the library into a larger builiding. In April 2003 106 West
Flessner became the library's new home.
